Climate

We are committed to reducing our climate impact across the full value chain, from feed production and raw material sourcing to processing, packing, storage and distribution.

Our climate strategy

Sykes Seafood operates in a global seafood supply chain, where climate responsibility requires a structured, data-led and long-term approach. Our climate strategy focuses on understanding where emissions occur, identifying the areas with the greatest impact and working with suppliers, logistics partners and internal teams to reduce emissions over time.

As part of this approach, we are aligning our climate work with science-based principles and developing clear reduction pathways across Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions. This helps ensure that climate action is measurable, practical and connected to the realities of seafood sourcing and supply.

Measurable impact

Full and ongoing measurement of our carbon footprint across Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions.

2035 objectives

Progress towards defined climate reduction objectives, supported by data, supplier engagement and practical improvement measures.

Quality is not a moment, but a process

Improvement happens in practice. By measuring, analysing and adjusting our processes, we keep quality, efficiency and environmental performance visible, controlled and continuously improving.

Traceability across the supply chain

From source to finished product, visibility across the supply chain supports better decision-making and strengthens customer confidence.

Data and process insight

We use data to better understand performance, identify emissions hotspots and support structured improvements across operations and supply chains.

Innovation with direction

New developments are assessed against quality, practicality, reliability and measurable impact. Only solutions that work in practice are taken forward.

Our current focus areas

Across our operations and supply chains, we focus on the areas where we can make the most meaningful impact.

Renewable energy

Increasing the share of renewable energy across our operations and supply network where practical.

Transport

Reducing transport-related emissions through improved planning, logistics efficiency and collaboration with distribution partners.

Energy efficiency

Improving energy efficiency and supporting electrification where it helps reduce operational emissions.

Reducing Scope 3

Addressing Scope 3 emissions through supplier engagement, responsible aquaculture improvement and the Shrimp Forward approach.

Reuse and waste reduction

Reducing the climate impact of waste by identifying opportunities to reuse, repurpose or redirect residual streams into lower-impact applications.

Our approach is data-led and focused on the areas with the greatest impact. By combining detailed footprint analysis with close collaboration across our supplier and logistics network, we translate insight into practical reduction measures.

As we continue to develop our climate roadmap, we will monitor performance, refine priorities and report transparently on progress. This helps ensure that our climate strategy remains measurable, achievable and aligned with the transition towards a lower-carbon food supply chain.
